As we get closer to the end of the year, many taxpayers will be making donations not only as a tax write off, but to also help the organization. Even though the standard deductions for filing taxes has doubled from the previous year and increased this year from 2018 tax filing, charitable donations may not increase your tax deductions based upon the standard deductions we already receive. But do not let that deter you from donating as this may be helpful with your taxes for the State filing. As we all know, donating to reputable organizations not only helps the organization, but should also make us feel good that we are helping our communities and those in need.
When making donations, make sure you donate to reputable organizations, get a receipt for the donations, and save them with your tax documents for filing your taxes.
