Legal professionals do a lot of research. Many times clients will call with questions that we can answer with certainty, but find ourselves always doing the research to confirm the results since laws are ever changing.
Most people do the same; they need a question answered and will Google to find the answers. Often enough, people take what they read as the correct answer. You know the saying, “If it’s on the internet, it must be true.” Don’t be fooled. Can you imagine if a legal professional did this? There is nothing worse than bad advice.
When doing research, use government websites and only reputable websites to find your answers. Double check your results. IRS.gov, EDD.ca.gov, FTB.ca.gov are all great resources to use when needing tax questions answered whether it’s payroll tax questions or any other tax question, these sites are extremely helpful.
